Stone Paper is non-toxic, and even food safe.This eco-friendly product is made up of 60-80% Calcium Carbonate (CaCO) and a small quantity (20-40%) of non-toxic resin (HDPE, otherwise known as High Density Polyethylene). No water or air pollution is generated during its production, and no chlorine or acids are used in the process either.

The Calcium Carbonate used in Stone paper is obtained from limestone waste that would have been created anyway in the building and construction industry. It is grinded down to a fine powder, and the HDPE is used to keep the powder together.

The end product is a tough, durable paper that is not easily torn or stained by water.It also has the added advantage of being bright white and soft, with a smooth texture similar to film - without the need of any petroleum-based chemicals!
